BHS track teams host Burns Lions Arlie Oster Track Meet Burns Track Crane Track May 7, 2025May 8, 20250 The Burns track teams won the Burns Lions Arlie Oster Track Meet held at BHS on Friday, May 2. The women’s track team took the team title with a score of 81 points. Grant Union came in second, scoring 68 points, while Crane and North Lake finished third, each scoring 66 points, and Prairie City finished fifth with 54 points. For the men, Burns blew away the competition with 152 points for first place. Grant Union came in second with a score of 69 points. Crane came in third with 61 points, while North Lake scored 26 points and Prairie City finished with 19 points. The Hilanders placed first in 15 events. Akylah Kaino broke a season record in the long jump with a jump of 17’0”, and currently leads all 3A jumpers. Carsen Volle leads all 3A hurdlers in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles, running it in 14.83 and 38.74. The 4×100 relay team broke a season record and leads all of 3A teams with a time of 43.53. The team consists of Tyson Ballard, Carsen Volle, Canon Winn and Kale Cornell. Canon Winn is tied with two other vaulters in 3A in the pole vault. Along with Winn, Teddy Ratliff of Catlin Gabel and Brayden Draper of Nyssa have vaulted 14’0”. The Mustangs took home first in four events at the Oster Track Meet. Crane’s Tanner Joyce currently leads all runners in 1A in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:02.49.
