Dianna Louise Jaques Jan. 28, 1948 – Dec. 20, 2024

Dianna was reunited with the love of her life and husband of 53 yrs William; her parents and many greatly missed family and friends on Dec. 20, 2024, at her home in Hines. Her daughter Krystie; son-in-law Martin, sister Linda and her fur babies; Sunshine and Ginger were by her side.

Dianna Louise Snow was born Jan. 28, 1948; in Boise, Idaho, to Margie Lou (Robbins) and Roscoe Mc Corkle Snow. She was the second of the four Snow girls joining sister Pansy Ann. Sister and best friend, Sharon would join her two years later. Dianna’s parents divorced when she was nine-years-old; but she would gain loving stepparents, John Walbey and Dorothy Snow along with five stepbrothers and four stepsisters a few years later.  When Dianna was 16, her baby sister, Linda was born.

As a young child, Dianna lived with her blended family in Boise near Boise Stadium. Most of her family members lived on the same or surrounding blocks. Dianna loved living so close to her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family and Faith meant the world to her. She would spend her childhood attending church with her family; making memories with her brothers, sisters, cousins and the neighborhood children; floating the Boise River, exploring Ann Morrison Park and watching movies at the Egyptian Theater.

When Dianna was 15, her family relocated to Jungo, Nev., a small mining community. She and her sisters attended school in Winnemucca, which was 30-35 miles away. Dianna loved her teen years in Nevada. While in Winnemuca she was prom queen, on the decorating committee for dances and school functions, belonged to Future Homemakers of America, the Baptist Youth Ministry and babysat for the families of Jungo with her sister, Sharon. Five months before graduation the she moved to Burns when the mine closed and her dad, John, took a job at Edward Hines Lumber. She graduated from Burns Union Highs School in 1967.

Dianna had saved money for and planned to attend nursing school in Idaho but met the love of her life, William Jaques in the spring of 1970. Bill and Dianna married on Sept. 6, 1970, in Reno. Making their home in Harney County, they started their family the next year with the birth of their daughter, Krystie Lynn. In November of 1973, they added a son, John Dean to complete the family. Dianna always wanted grandchildren and to be the fun grandma. So she was overjoyed to welcome grandson, Joshua Scott and granddaughter, Alya Mae Jaques to the family in 2013. She was so proud of and loved spending time and caring for her grandchildren.

Dianna was born a caregiver. She dedicated 55 years of her life to health care as a CNA and CHHA; she loved caring for others and her role in nursing. She began working at Harney County Hospital shortly after high school graduation as a nursing assistant. She took a short break when her daughter was born but returned to the hospital in February 1979; when her son was in kindergarten. She went  on to work for the hospital for over 35 years. She was known for her kindness, compassion and excellent care giving skills. She was so proud of her position and tenure at the hospital. Some of her proudest moments were being at the births of multiple generations, working side by side with her daughter, caring for patients like family and being nominated and receiving Employee of the Quarter and Employee of the Year in 1995. She retired from the hospital in the late 2000’s, but retirement was not for Dianna, her love of care giving was too strong and within months she was working full-time for Harney County Home Health and Hospice.  This was when she was the happiest. She loved the team she worked with and had the honor of being touched by the lives of so many families of Burns, Hines and Harney County. Dianna officially retired in 2021, but remained as a casual employee until 2023, when she decided to stay home and care for her husband until his death in September of that year.

When Dianna wasn’t working she loved to travel with family and friends. Some of her favorite trips were going to Alaska, New York and Atlantic City with her sister, Sharon; taking her best friend, Kathi Laughlin to Alaska; visiting China and cruising the Mexican Riviera with friends, Kate Johnson and Jackie Drinkwater and seeing Germany, Austria and Italy with her daughter, Krystie and God-daughter, Lori.  She loved sending time in Colorado, Alaska, Idaho and New Mexico visiting family and seeing the sites. She loved spending time and caring her grandchildren more than anything. She loved her dogs, Ginger and Sunshine, who brought her so much joy and strength the last months of her life. She was an avid reader and lover of classic movies. God gave her the gift of gab and she loved to socialize and never met a stranger. Its been said that she was capable of having a conversation with a rock and was notorious for not being able to keep a secret. She loved her community and the people in it and was proud to be a member of it.

Dianna is survived by her daughter, Krystie Jaques-Perryman (Martin) of Fort Collins, Colo., and son, John Jaques (Heidi) of Wasilla, Alaska; grandchildren Joshua and Ayla Jaques of Wasilla; sisters, Pansy Ann Pearson of Boise, Sharon Mac Farland of Deming, N.M., and Linda Snow of Meridian; and aunt, Anna Bay.
