Tamra McDermond Stoddart Nov. 18, 1954 – May 21, 2025 Obituary June 4, 2025June 4, 20250 Tamra McDermond Stoddart, age 70, of Hines, passed away Wednesday evening, May 21, 2025. Her warm presence, generous heart, and creative spirit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. She was born on Nov. 18, 1954, in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of the late Donald Chase McDermond and Lucile A. McIntosh. Tamra lived a life full of love and kindness towards others. She was the proud and devoted mother of Sam Stoddart and William Stoddart, and her love for them was matched only by the joy she found in her role as “Nana” to her three granddaughters: Ivy Jo, Ava Rose, and Jemma Kate. Anyone who knew Tamra quickly became familiar with the stories and accomplishments of her granddaughters—she never missed a chance to share their light with others. Tamra had an effortless grace and a gentle, kind soul that drew people in. Her love for her family was the center of her world, especially the deep bond she shared with her best friend and sister, Ginny Dufurena. Together, they created a lifetime of cherished memories and unconditional support. A gifted artist, Tamra brought beauty into the lives of those around her, not just through her art but through the way she encouraged others to create and express themselves. She especially loved sharing this passion with her granddaughters, inspiring their young hearts with creativity, patience, and joy. Tamra is survived by her sons, Sam Stoddart and Willy Stoddart (Raime); granddaughters, Ivy, Ava and Jemma Stoddart; brothers, T.C. McDermond (Colleen), T.J. McDermond; and sisters, Dawn McDermond (James), and Ginny Dufurrena (Hank); and countless other nieces, nephews and cousins. Tamra was preceded in death by her father, Donald; mother, Lucile; sister, Cherie McDermond Asnes; and brother, D.K. McDermond. Tamra touched countless lives with her easy spirit and generous heart. In her memory, and in honor of her enduring love for children and the arts, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to your local school’s art program. Her legacy lives on in every brushstroke, every laugh shared, and every heart she inspired. She will be lovingly remembered on July 10, 2025 at 1 p.m. in the Crane Middle School Gym, Crane, Oregon. Lunch to follow service. Refreshments, rolls, and meat will be provided. Please bring a potluck dish to share if you would like.
