George Earl Glerup 1944 – 2025 Obituary October 8, 2025October 17, 20250 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of George Earl Glerup, 81, of Vale. George peacefully departed this world on Sept. 24, 2025, in Burns. George was born on March 29, 1944, in Burns, to Jack Cote and Pearl Cote (Glerup). He grew up in Burns, graduating from Burns Union High School before serving proudly in the National Guard. George worked for many years at the Farm Supply, where he gained invaluable knowledge and experience. He later used those skills to successfully run several of his own businesses, including G2 Enterprises, which he co-owned with his brother, Dave Glerup, as well as George’s Shop and Rock. While expanding George’s Shop and Rock, George and Burta “Jeannie” (Schroder) Glerup relocated to Vale. George also loved the sea, fishing, and traveling with Jeannie and their friends. After raising their family and successfully running their business, they spent many years exploring the Mexican Baja and the Oregon Coast, where they enjoyed fishing and building lasting friendships and community along the way. He is survived by his daughter, Jeane Jensen; his son, Perry Lowe; his grandchildren, Bridget Robinson, Trey Lowe, and Emma Lowe; his sister, Roberta Oltman; and his brothers, David and Samuel Glerup. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Cote and Pearl Glerup; his wife, Burta Jeannie Glerup; his sister, Elizabeth (Betty) Burnett. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Harney County Hospice in his memory.
