Earl Hofman passed away at his home in Roseburg, on Friday Jan. 2. 

Earl was born in Hines. He was youngest of three children to Henry and Pauline Hofman. He worked for Edward Hines Lumber Company for over 25 years as a millwright. After leaving the mill he worked for the city of Hines for over 20 years in the maintenance department. 

Earl met and married Joan (Sevey), the two of them shared almost 50 years together. They raised their four children in Hines in the house he built with his brother and brother-in-law. He shared with them his love of camping, fishing, and hunting. He taught them the value of hard work and importance of family. 

After Joan’s death Earl married Sophia Scarvelis. The two of them resided in Roseburg.

Earl is preceded in death by Joan; his parents and siblings. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy (Arnie) Mock. Sons, Kevin (Joyce) Hofman, Christopher Hofman, and Michael Hofman. As well as his ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
