Darvin “Derry” Laverne Eliason, born Sept. 6, 1931, in Lostwood, N.D., passed away peacefully on Oct. 15, 2025, at the age of 94, in Estacada, Ore. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Derry lived a full life marked by deep connections with his family and a strong sense of community.

Derry was preceded in death by his father, Pete Ellis Eliason; his mother, Norma Sheets; his brother, Robert Eliason; and his sister, Jennie Pearson. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Jane Eliason; his sister, Judy; and his five children: Garth, Cory, Teresa, Michelle, and Tony. He will also be deeply missed by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him great joy.

In 1935, Derry’s family moved to the Pacific Northwest, and he made the Portland area his home for most of his life. He also resided in Burns from 2002 to 2015. He found happiness in the simple pleasures of life and treasured the time spent with his family and friends. His warm spirit and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

A memorial service to celebrate Derry’s life will be held on Oct. 25, 2025, at 1 p.m., at the Estacada Funeral Home. All are welcome to attend and share in the remembrance of a life well-lived.
