Javier Lete Jan. 24, 1961 – Feb. 20, 2026 Obituary March 18, 2026March 18, 20260 Javier Hilario Lete, 65, passed away at the residence of his brothers, Jess, surrounded by family, on Feb. 20, 2026. Javier was born in Nampa, Idaho on Jan. 24, 1961, to Maria Altuna Lete and Domingo Lete. Throughout his life, Javier had many different jobs. He worked for the Forest Service in Hines, as well as Frenchglen Mill Works. He also worked at Kirkland Facility in Burns, Dresser Mines in Battle Mountain, Nev., Oregon Youth Authority (OYA) in Burns, and lastly, OYA in La Grande. Javier spent his final years in La Grande and enjoyed riding his bike and watching sports. Sports were his life. He enjoyed all sports. He knew all of the teams and every player. What he took pride in most, was watching his sons and grandchildren grow up and do what they love. He was a wonderful husband, father and Aititxa. He was a great cook and always made sure people ate and enjoyed his food. He would ride his bike for miles and miles and he enjoyed being outdoors. He had a smile and a laugh that would light up a room. He would always give the best hugs and make anyone feel warm and welcomed. He was truly the kindest, most loving and caring person. He never met a stranger. Javier married Jeanna Morgan and they had one son, Derrek Lete. They later divorced. As time wen on, Javier met Kelly Walker and the two married Sept. 13, 1997. They had one son, Andoni Lete. Javier is surivived by his wife, Kelly Lete; sons, Derrek (Kylee) and Andoni (Adriana); sister, Amparo Hofman (Karl); brother, Jess (Tina); grandsons, Ander and Manny; granddaughter, Olivia; nieces, Hayley and Nerea; nephews, Mekel, Domingo, and Dioni; aunts, Rosie Lete, Lorea Altuna, and Maritere Altuna; as well as several cousins. He is proceeded in death by his parents, Maria and Domingo; and multiple aunts and uncles. There will be a celebration of life at The Basque Center in Boise on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to The Basque Center in memory of Javier Lete at 601 W.
