Toni K. (Cargill) Hilbert 1959 – 2026

 

Toni K. (Cargill) Hilbert, 67, who loved her horses, family and friends fiercely, passed away unexpectedly in Burns, on Friday Aug. 15.

Toni was born June 22, 1959, in El Centro. Cali., to Carl and Linda (Hix) Cargill. Toni grew up in California, graduating from Del Oro High School in Loomis, Calif., which is where she met her first husband who she had her two daughters, Kippen and Kindell with.

Prior to moving to Elko, Nev., the summer of 1996 where she began working for Silver State Rock, Toni was employed as a school bus driver for the Mid Placer School District.

During her employment at Silver State Rock Toni met the love of her life, David Hilbert, who she would go on the marry on Nov. 22, 2000.

Toni eventually began working for the Elko School District as a bus driver, which she retired from in 2020.

Toni made friends everywhere she went. She loved her dogs, hunting and fishing, dirt roads, and the big open skies.

Toni was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Linda; and a few four-legged friends (who she considered family.)

Toni is survived by her husband, David of Burns; as well as her daughters, Kippen Williamson and Kindell Adair, both of Durango, Colo.; her loving sister, Terri Cornelius of Utah; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Toni will be held for Toni at the Burns Elks Lodge on Saturday, Aug. 29 at 1 p.m.
