The Chamber Music Society’s annual meeting will be held on Wednesday, June 3, at 6 p.m., at Hines City Hall.

The Harney County Health District board of directors meets the first Wednesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the board conference room of the hospital. The public portions of the meeting can be attended virtually or in person. If you would like to attend the meeting virtually, please email Kathy Huffman at khuffman@harneydh.com to receive the video conferencing information. Occasionally, an executive session may be held during the board meeting per Oregon Revised Statutes. Executive sessions and applicable statutes will be included on the meeting agenda.

Harney County Court meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Harney County Courthouse, 450 North Buena Vista, at 10 a.m.  Meeting agendas, minutes and supporting documents can be found online at the Harney County, Oregon TOWN CLOUD platform: https://towncloud.io/go/harney-county-or. The Burns Cemetery Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at 10 a.m. at Burns City Hall.

The Harney County Community Response Team (CRT) meets the first Wednesday of every month from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Community Center, 484 N. Broadway. The CRT consists of anyone interested in what is going on in the county as it relates to business and industry. County, city and tribal leaders provide general information to the public regarding xisting programs and recruitment efforts.

Burns Elks Lodge, 118 N. Broadway, meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.

Wednesday Wavers begins Wednesday, May 6 at The Mill House in Hines from 4-6pm

Frontier Art Center has Open Studio for adults Wednesdays from 5:30 – 8:30pm. This is for folks with ongoing projects in pottery, paint, or fiber. Fee ais $10 per day, and does not include clay or painting canvas or yarn, but other supplies provided. 405 N. Broadway in Burns, corner of Broadway and Washington. LIFE Church offers a small group opportunities each Wednesday. The group meets at the church (74 South Alvord) at noon. We eat, discuss, support each other, and pray. We would love to have you participate.

Women’s AA meeting is held at noon every Wednesday at LIFE Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets each Wednesday at 7 p.m. at LIFE Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns. For information call 541-413-0781.

Thursday, June 4

The Harney Rodders Car Club meets the first Thursday of the month. Call Eddy at 541-573-7923 and leave a message for location.

Harney County Search and Rescue meets the first Thursday of each month at the Search and Rescue Building at 6 p.m. Applications are available at the Sheriff’s office.

The Harney County Senior Center offers classes for Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-10:15 in the morning. The class consists of DVD and personal instruction. Friday, June 5

Coffee with the Council is the first Friday of the month at Hines City Hall from 9-11 a.m.

Frontier Art Center’s Open Studio for all ages is now Friday afternoons from 3:00 – 6:00pm. Youth under 12 must be accompanied by adult. $10 per day. Fee does not include clay or painting canvas, but other supplies provided. Basic instruction or work on your own. 405 N. Broadway in Burns, corner of Broadway and Washington. Al-Anon meets the first Saturday at the Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 417 W. Washington St. Burns, from 4:30-6 p.m.

Sunday, June 7

A free community dinner, is served the first Sunday of each month for dine-in at 1:30pm and pick-up at 2pm, at the back door of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 600 N. Saginaw Ave., in Hines. Call Leasa at 541-495-2430 or email 1sundaymeal@gmail.com for more information.

Monday, June 8

Harney County Historical Society meets the second Monday of each month at the Museum Annex, at 1 p.m. The meetings are free and open to the public.

The HHOPE board of directors meets the second Monday of every other month at 5:15 p.m. at the Foursquare Church.

Spark Art Studios & Emporium has Open Art Night every Monday night. The public is invited to bring their own work in progress, whether it’s painting, fiber arts, multimedia or whatever, or we can set you up with some of our supplies. We chit chat and offer constructive criticism and inspiration while we work from 5-7 pm Monday nights at 341 N. Broadway Ave., in Burns.

12-Step Meeting for Narcotics Anonymous meets every Monday at the Four Square Church at 7:00 p.m. Contact 678-938-7830 for more information.

The Hines Volunteer Fire Department meets at the Hines Fire Hall each Monday at 6:30 p.m. (except the fifth Monday of the month). Prospective members may contact Hines City Hall at 541-573-2251.

Harney District Hospital holds a free Physical Therapy Sports Injury Clinic for any athletes, 6th grade through 12th grade, that have sustained a sports-related injury. Athletes will be seen by a physical therapist to assess their injury and offer recommendations for treatment, or refer them to their physician if needed. Call 541-573-1543 to arrange a time to come in. A parent or guardian must accompany the athlete when they come in to the sports injury clinic.

Tuesday, June 9

CAN Cancer of Harney County holds a support group the second Tuesday of each month from 12-1 p.m. in the Board Room at Harney District Hospital. This group is open to all cancer patients and survivors as well as their family members, caregivers, and friends. This is a great place to share your concerns, ask questions, and be surrounded by people who can relate to what you’re going through and provide support. Harney County Local Community Action Council meets the second Tuesday of each month from 1-3 p.m. in the hospital board room. EOCCO plan members, this is your opportunity to meet with community health partners who can assist you with your particular needs. For questions, call Evelyn Neasham at 541-480-6809.

Disabilities Services Advisory Council for Harney County meets the second Tuesday of each month at the state office building, 809 W. Jackson, at 1:30 p.m.

The Harney County School District No. 3 board of directors meets at the District Office, 190 Hines Blvd., Burns, the second Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m.

Hines Common Council meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Hines City Hall, 101 E. Barnes, at 6:30 p.m.

Harney County Watershed Council meets the third Tuesday of each month at 242 Highway 20 South in Hines at 5:30 p.m.

Scouts BSA meet each Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Harney County Church of the Nazarene. Boys & girls ages 11 and above are welcome. For more information, call 541-573-1935.

Addiction Recovery Program meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in room 17 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 600 N. Saginaw Avenue in Hines. This free group meeting is a faith-based, 12-step program open to all in the community age 18 and older who are working on stopping any destructive habits. The northeast door to the building will be unlocked for your convenience.
