On Wednesday, July 22, 2026, Spark Art Studios & Emporium will be holding a macrame hat hanger class. We will start at 5:30pm and go for about two hours. All supplies and instruction will be provided to make either a double or triple hat hanger. Cost is $35 for a double and $40 for a triple hat hanger. The Burns Lions Club meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month, excluding holidays, at noon for a no-host luncheon at Bella Java, 314 N. Broadway in Burns. The public is invited to attend. Those interested in serving the community are welcome.

Burns City Council meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at Burns City Hall, 242 S. Broadway, at 6 p.m.

Spark Art Studios & Emporium is hosting a new group, Coffee, Crafts & Cohorts, every Wednesday morning from 10am til noon at 341 N Broadway Avenue in Burns. We will be offering free coffee and donut holes fresh from Annie’s Bakery. New cohorts can bring in a project they are working on, if wanted, and join us for creative conversation and inspiration.

Wednesday Wavers at The Mill House in Hines from 4-6pm

Frontier Art Center has Open Studio for adults Wednesdays from 5:30 – 8:30pm. This is for folks with ongoing projects in pottery, paint, or fiber. LIFE Church offers a small group opportunities each Wednesday. The group meets at the church (74 South Alvord) at noon. We eat, discuss, support each other, and pray. We would love to have you participate.

Stars and Sundaes Family Astronomy Night takes place Thursday, July 23, from 9-10:30 pm outside the library.

On Thursday, July 23, 2026, Spark Art Studios & Emporium will be holding a Paint & Sip class. The painting will be of a night sky with your own details to make it uniquely yours. Class will be held at the Elks during their Taco Night, so bring your appetite as well as your creativity. Cost will be $40 and will include all painting supplies and one drink. The Harney County Senior Center offers classes for Tai Chi for Arthritis and Fall Prevention Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-10:15 in the morning. The class consists of DVD and personal instruction. The public is invited to bring their own work in progress, whether it’s painting, fiber arts, multimedia or whatever, or we can set you up with some of our supplies. We chit chat and offer constructive criticism and inspiration while we work from 5-7 pm Monday nights at 341 N. Broadway Ave., in Burns.

The Hines Volunteer Fire Department meets at the Hines Fire Hall each Monday at 6:30 p.m. (except the fifth Monday of the month). Prospective members may contact Hines City Hall at 541-573-2251.

Harney District Hospital holds a free Physical Therapy Sports Injury Clinic for any athletes, 6th grade through 12th grade, that have sustained a sports-related injury. Athletes will be seen by a physical therapist to assess their injury and offer recommendations for treatment, or refer them to their physician if needed. Call 541-573-1543 to arrange a time to come in. A parent or guardian must accompany the athlete when they come in to the sports injury clinic.

Addiction Recovery Program meets every Tuesday at 7 p.m. in room 17 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at 600 N. Saginaw Avenue in Hines. This free group meeting is a faith-based, 12-step program open to all in the community age 18 and older who are working on stopping any destructive habits. The northeast door to the building will be unlocked for your convenience.
