June F. Pifher, 70, passed away Nov. 13 at Harney District Hospital. June was born Jan. 23, 1946, in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to George Edwards and Frances June (Seymour) Edwards. The family moved to Southern California where she attended school and graduated from high school. She married Earl William Pifher Sr.

Matthew Jack Little, 59, was tragically killed Nov. 8 while crossing the street in Bremerton, Wash. Jack was born May 7, 1957, in Vancouver, Wash. Jack resided in Harney County from 1968 until 1972. He then moved to California, and in 1974, enlisted and served in the Marine Corps Reserves. A few

  Robert (Bobb) Bruce Farmer, Jr. passed away Oct. 24. Bobb was born Aug. 21, 1933, in Seattle, Wash., to Robert Bruce Farmer and Melva Berkhiemer Farmer. He attended Bothell public schools, graduating from Bothell High School in 1951. While in high school, Bobb was active in track as a pole vaulter.

  Berneace Shelton of Burns, passed away Oct. 20, at the age of 88. Berneace was born May 25, 1928, in Burns, to Harry and Irene Church. Berneace grew up at the Narrows as a ranch child.  She and her three brothers, along with her mother and the help of neighbor ranchers,

Wendy Lynne (Meredith) Schouviller was born in Nanimo, Canada, in 1941.  She moved with her family at a young age to Portland in 1951, and then became a U.S. citizen. After high school, Wendy cooked at Wagontire, and there she met Irvin Schouviller and married him in Burns in 1961.

Darrel Eugene Bethel passed away Oct. 12 at his home in Antelope, surrounded by loved ones. Darrel was born Oct. 31, 1935, in Anton, Colo., to Lee and Bertie Bethel (Threlkel). He moved to Salem as a toddler. He went to school in Shaw, and then went to Cascade High School
