Peter L. Boren 1949-2018

 

Peter L. “Pete” Boren, passed away Feb. 22, in Bend, after losing his fight with cancer.

He was born June 24, 1949, in Burns to Phil Boren and Louise Hibbard.

Pete spent his career at the counter of local parts stores for 40 years. He was a beloved part of Harney County, serving customers of NAPA parts with a smile and patience. He enjoyed fishing, maintaining Pete’s Park, spending time with family and friends, and prospecting for gold with his wife of 32 years, Marilyn Boren.

Pete is survived by his wife, Marilyn Boren; three daughters; one son; two sisters, Melissa Boren and Kris Rhines; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Mathew Boren.

At Pete’s request, there will be no services. However, family members will have a memorial at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marilyn Boren to help with expenses at 689 E. Van Buren, Burns, OR 97720.

  1. Pete worked with my mother at NAPA Auto parts for years and I had many encounters with him during his time at the parts store as well as him training me to stock shelves at the parts stores. He was a great person and friend. He will be missed
