Diamond Community Theater presenting play

The Diamond Community Theater will be presenting a performance of The Not-So-Grand Hotel at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 31, at the Diamond Grade School.

With the front entrance still blocked from the last mudslide, business has been a bit slow for the dilapidated Hotel Horace.  But as luck would have it, the town of Swampy Corners suffers another major mudslide, this time blocking the main highway. With the new detour running right past the front door of the hotel, the owner decides to spruce up the place with the help of two lazy teenagers, a half-baked cook, and a bellhop.  But when a police fugitive, a British world traveler, a high school math teacher, and two high school students arrive at the hotel, the hotel staff soon find themselves buried in an avalanche of madness.

The admission is a $5 donation to the Diamond Community Fund. Guests are also welcome to the Friday night dress rehearsal on March 30 at 7 p.m. Following the play, live dance music will be provided by Tylor and the Train Robbers, a group with a Western flavor. One can hear them on YouTube  and Google them to find their current itinerary.

Travelocity may miss this spot, but you won’t want to miss a night at The Not-So-Grand Hotel.
