Burns boys golf team hosts, wins Burns Invitational

The Burns boys golf team picked up their third win in a row, claiming the top spot in the Burns Invitational on Wednesday, April 18, at the Valley Golf Club in Hines.

Burns finished with a team score of 377, followed by Lakeview with 392, Burns JV 416, Grant Union 433, Nyssa 514, and Vale 544.

The Hilanders were led by Dakota Ceja with a score of 92. David Wilson shot 94, Jake Keady 95, Mitch Wulff 96, and Chase Wilcox 99.

For the Burns JV team, DJ Hoke and Mason Wulff both shot 102, Brady White 105, Travis Keady 107, and Scott Breshears 111.

Grant Union’s Duane Stokes took medalist honors by shooting 85, followed by Lakeview’s Reece Raines with 86.

Grant Union won the girls meet with a score of 519. Nyssa was second with 535, and Vale third with 561. The Burns and Ontario teams were incomplete.

Hadley Marshall of Burns placed fourth in the individual standings with a score of 124.

Nyssa’s Zanizia Suarez won medalist honors with a 110, and Miranda Raven of Vale was second with 118.

The Burns boys golf team finished second at the Grant Union Invitational in John Day on Friday, April 20.

Heppner won the team title with a score of 359, followed by Burns with 398, Grant Union 408, Enterprise 423, and Heppner JV 439. Wallowa and Vale teams were incomplete.

J. Keady and Ceja led the Hilanders as both shot 95. Hoke and Ma. Wulff had 104s, and Wilcox 110.

For the Burns JV team, T. Keady finished with 106, White 119, and Breshears 121.

Grant Union’s Stokes earned medalist honors by shooting 83.

Heppner also won the girls met with a team score of 387. Grant Union was second with 487, followed by Vale 523, and Heppner JV 532.

The Hilanders’ Hadley Marshall finished with 147.

Nicole Propheter shot 91 to take medalist honors.
