Tammy Raye (Nelson) Hicks, 49, of Sam’s Valley, passed away June 30.

She was born Aug. 15, 1968, in Burns, to Ralph and Leslie Nelson.

Tammy loved gardening, baking, decorating, crafting, and mostly spending time with her family. She was a wonderful, full-time mom and had a smile that lit up a room. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Tammy is survived by her parents, Ralph (Sandy) Nelson, and Leslie (David) Fruhling; brothers, John (Sara) Nelson of Stayton, and Brian (Lynae) Nelson of Eugene; children, Kevin Dean Hicks Jr., 16, Elizabeth Rachelle Hicks, 14, Megan Renee Hicks, 13, and Jacob Mathew Hicks, 10; as well as many adoring aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
