Norma May Worley Hill 1933-2018

Norma May Worley Hill, 85, of Hines, passed away at her home Aug.16.

Norma was born Jan. 30, 1933, in Caldwell, Kan., to Charles and Ruth Worley. Norma grew up in Kansas and Oklahoma until 1935, when the family moved to a farm on the Oregon Slope, near Ontario.

She married Lawrence (Spike) Hill May 27, 1951, in Payette, Idaho. Spike and Norma moved to Hines where Spike went to work at Edward Hines Lumber Company as a diesel mechanic. Norma worked at Midway Market, Hines Market, and then she retired from Burns City Hall.

Norma enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and camping with her family.

Norma is survived by her three children, Steve (Tana) Hill of Lexington, Garry (Jean) Hill of Bend, and Janice (Ed) Wilson of Meridian, Idaho; grandchildren, Dani (Alex) Warthen, Shawn (Michelle) Hill, Josh (Dena) Hill, Shalon (Hans) Sieg, Brian Wilson, Tina Jennings, and Jessie Wilson; great-grandchildren, Evan, Eli, Scout, CJ, Kaydee, Coleman, Jacenda, Genelle, Easton, Cody, and Addison; sisters, Edith Waite of Walla Walla, Wash., Jean Mattson of Quincy, Wash., and Georgia Coleman of Ontario; sisters-in-law, Tressie Worley of Oakdale, Calif., and Letha Worley of Payette, Idaho; and many nieces, nephews, close friends, and Julie Hill, mother of Shawn and Shalon.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, and six brothers.

Services were held on Aug. 23 at the Harney County Church of the Nazarene, and a graveside service was held in Payette, Idaho. Contributions in Norma’s memory may be made to ALS, and they can be mailed to LaFollette’s Chapel, P.O. Box 488, Burns, Oregon 97720.
