Joseph W. Gregg 1946-2018

Joseph W. Gregg passed away Dec. 18 at West Valley Memorial Hospital in Caldwell, Idaho.

Joseph was born March 24, 1946, in Burns (without either arm) to Eunice (Cronin) and Pat Gregg.

Joe was an independent insurance agent for almost 40 years. He was also a certified mechanic, and a ranch hand for many ranches including Roaring Springs and the Oxbow. Joe worked for the U.S. Forest Service, was a firefighter, ran a rubber-tired skidder for a road crew, bumped knots, and set chokers for a logging company, and cut thousands of cords of firewood. He succeeded at anything he ever tried.

Joe spent many years in the Shriner’s Hospital in Portland, where he made history with artificial arms, and he beat cancer in 2011.

Joe enjoyed hunting and fishing and riding in the mountains surrounding Burns. He liked fast cars and a good rodeo. Joe was an incredible inspiration to any one he met.
