Burns’ first score of the night came on a 1-yard run by quarterback Jaden Tiller with 4:24 to play in the first quarter. William Johnson’s extra-point kick  put the Hilanders up 7-0.

Following a punt by Irrigon, the Hilanders took over at their own 48. On the second play of the drive, Ceja got loose for a 40-yard score, and Burns led 14-0 following the extra-point kick.

The ensuing kickoff was mishandled by the Knights’ return team, and Burns recovered at the Irrigon 45. It took the Hilanders just three plays to get into the end zone, with Winn scoring on a 23-yard run.

With 8:56 left in the first half, Winn scored on a 29-yard run to give the Hilanders a 28-0 lead.

Irrigon went three-and -out on their next possession, giving Burns a first down at their own 36 after the punt. Ceja then scored on a 64-yard run, and Burns led 35-0.

An interception by Dalhton Proffitt gave Burns a first down at the Knights’ 27, and Ceja recorded his third TD of the game on an 18-yard run, and the half ended with Burns leading 42-0.

The Hilanders made it 48-0 on their first possession of the second half as Winn scored on a 4-yard run to cap off three-play, 73-yard drive.

Freshman quarterback Joseph Wright added two touchdown runs in the final quarter, the first a 5-yard run, and the second a 60-yard scamper with 17 seconds left on the clock.

Tiller completed all six pass attempts for 49 yards.

The Hilanders amassed 545 yards rushing on 37 carries.

The Hilanders return home to host Umatilla at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, at Corbett Memorial Field. The Vikings, 4-1, lost to Nyssa 22-7 on Oct. 4 for their first loss of the season.
