Oland Gwin Lawson passed away Oct. 18 in Bend, surrounded by his family and friends.

He was born Sept. 2, 1930, in Shawnee, Okla.

Gwin served in the Army 82nd Airborne 8th Ranger Infantry Company during the Korean War.

Gwin is survived by his beloved wife, Janice; sisters, Margie, Margaret and Patsy; children, Ricky, Jesse (Lilly), and Jennifer (Mike); grandchildren, Brandy (Tim), Michelle, Sarah, David (Stacey), and Arly (Vera); great-grandchildren, Bella, Jori Winter and Jayden; great-great-grandson, Draven; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of Gwin’s life was held Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center.
