Lee sentenced to 24 months prison

Tylor Robert Lee

On June 2, Tylor Robert Lee was sentenced to 24-months prison after pleading guilty to burglary in the second degree and unlawful possession of methamphetamine.

On June 18, 2019, Oregon State Police Sgt. Brian Williams was patrolling east of the city of Burns. Williams observed a traffic violation and began to initiate a stop of the Acura. The vehicle began to make evasive maneuvers and then abruptly stopped. Acting quickly, Trooper Williams began giving the driver commands. The driver was eventually identified as Tylor Lee of Nampa, Idaho.

During the stop, Williams spotted boxes with other people’s names as well as cut locks.  Through further investigation and the assistance of additional local agencies, victims were quickly identified. It was determined that Lee and a co-defendant cut locks from storage sheds and removed property. Through the actions of Sgt. Williams, the victims recovered all stolen property.

A search warrant was obtained for two vehicles associated with the stop.  Located in the vehicles were methamphetamine, a firearm, metal knuckles, packaging material, and scales, in addition to the stolen property.

Harney County Deputy District Attorney Ryan Hughes prosecuted the case. Lee was charged with burglary in the second degree, theft in the first degree, criminal mischief in the second degree, unlawful possession of methamphetamine, felon in possession of a firearm, and felon in possession of a restricted weapon.

Lee’s confinement in Idaho Department of Corrections delayed resolution of the Harney County case. At sentencing, Hughes requested that the defendant be sentenced to the maximum guideline sentence given Lee’s plea. Pursuant to the request and Oregon Sentencing Guidelines, Judge William Cramer sentenced Lee to a total of 24 months in custody, followed by 36 months post-prison supervision to be served after Lee completes his Idaho sentence.

A warrant remains outstanding for the co-defendant.
