An investment group is interested in building a 110-plus-room Comfort Suites in Burns.

Ray Singh, a member of a small investment group with a sincere interest in small communities, announced that Burns was identified as a community of interested for building a hotel. Singh’s group currently owns five hotels, including one Hampton Suites, one Marriott, two Comfort Suites, and one Quality Inn & Suites.

Singh’s team, in cooperation with Burns City Manager Daniel Brown, identified a few potential properties for a new hotel and applied for some state tax incentives.

“Burns is the perfect place for us to build, and it is our hope that this article gives us some positive community support to fuel a large project like this,” Singh said. He added that, “Having the support from the city has been a huge plus, and City Manager Daniel Brown has been very helpful in providing resources.”

The new hotel will be a 110-plus-room Comfort Suites and will include a conference room with a minimum capacity of 50.

The group is currently waiting to hear back from several Pacific Northwest hotel construction companies. If everything goes as planned and the community is on board, construction could start as early as this summer.
