Visitors got to enjoy a demonstration by the smoke jumpers.

Burns Airport Day was celebrated at the Burns Municipal Airport on Saturday, Aug. 21.

The day got under way with a delicious pancake breakfast cooked by Boyce LaForest and crew from Oregon Data Services. Certified Flight Instructor Gregory Kolt also provided discovery flights to many patrons.

The fun continued as the smoke jumpers demonstrated a crowd-pleasing parachute jump, and Oregon Data Services provided a free flight simulator for everyone to enjoy.

Super hosts, Walt and Pat Sitz, were available to answer question about airport operations.

Of course, no event is complete without music! Party of 3 — a full DJ service owned and operated by Anna Gahley and Ty Reid of Burns — provided the music. They can be reached at 541-729-6319.

Pilots from other areas flew in to participate in the activities.
