Deputy D.A. takes oath of office

Harney County Deputy District Attorney Cody Coughlin took an oath of office on Oct. 7.

Harney County District Attorney’s Office is pleased to announce that Cody Coughlin took an oath of office for admission to the practice of law on Oct. 7 in Harney County Circuit Court. 

Coughlin recently passed his bar exam, which was taken in July 2021. He was then hired as deputy district attorney for the Harney County District Attorney’s Office, starting work in August 2021.

Originally from St. Helens, Coughlin obtained his bachelor’s degree in business sports and media studies from Arizona State University. He then earned his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Oregon School of Law. 

While attending law school, he interned and served as a Certified Law Student for the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office.

Harney County District Attorney’s Office is excited to welcome Coughlin aboard.
