Jamie Wayne Findlay Feb. 8, 1972 – Nov. 13, 2021

Jamie Wayne Findlay was born in Burns on Feb. 8, 1972 to Marjorie (Gregg) Findlay and Donald Findlay.

He spent his last days surrounded by family and friends and passed away with his loving mother and step father by his side on Nov. 13, 2021 at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise.

Jamie spent his early years with his family in logging camps where his father worked. In his elementary school years, he grew up a block away from Fillmore Elementary School and next door to his cousins. In the summers, from sun up til street lights, he and his sisters and cousins spent their days playing and exploring the neighborhood.

As an adult in his spare time, he continued exploring the outdoors, collecting rocks, making arrowheads, hiking, fishing, snowboarding, cooking, camping, wrenching on cars, and just “chilling out with his homies.”

He worked various jobs throughout his life. He worked as a wild land firefighter, did helicopter logging, and was a short order cook to name a few.

Jamie was a kind, tender hearted guy with a great sense of humor and loved to joke around and have a good laugh. He was a loyal friend and would do whatever he could to help someone in need, especially if he loved them.

Jamie is preceded in death by his father, Donald Findlay; and his best friend, Shyann.

He is survived and sorely missed by his loving mother and step father, Marjorie and Curtis Eggleston of Hines; sister, Robbie Gregg (husband Tom Zink); nephew, Trevor Gregg; niece, Torrie Gregg; his great-niece, Hattie May Gregg, all of Prineville; and his fur baby, Pebbles.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 20 at the Burns Elks Lodge at 2 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Humane Society of the Ochocos in Prineville in honor of Jamie Findlay and Pebbles.
