Put your aprons on, grease your cake pans, and get ready for the Great Harney County Bake Off!

Yes, it’s happening right here in our community. Bakers will compete to earn top honors in the Harney County Library’s cake baking competition, and the winner will be crowned Best Amateur Baker in Harney County. The contest starts Jan. 14, and all entries must be submitted by 5 p.m. on Jan. 31. 

Do you need some inspiration to get started? The library will have 25 kits available to be picked up, starting Jan. 14 (one per family). Kits include cake mix, powdered sugar, decorating tips for icing, sprinkles, and more. The library also has many different cake pans that you can check out and use to create your masterpiece. It is also perfectly fine to use your own pans. 

Although your local librarians would love to see and sample your creations, they ask that you please submit pictures only. Photos can be sent to harneycl@harneycountylibrary.org. You are welcome to submit more than one entry. Judging will take place the first week in February.
