Sally Bailey Phillips May 25, 1940 – Feb. 13, 2022

Sally Bailey Phillips, age 81, of Tenino, Wash., passed away after a brief illness.  

Sally was born in Eugene to parents, Margaret and Norman Larsen. As a young girl she came to the Steens Mountain to work with her sister as trail guides on horseback for Velties Camp. After High School she married local rancher Fred Bailey. Together they raised four children in Diamond Valley.

They moved to Idaho where Sally was the Social Page Editor for the Idaho Falls Post Register writing a weekly humorous column about family and life in Idaho.

She received her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Southern Oregon University, graduating with honors while caring for her elderly mother. She then moved to Tenino, Wash., where she married Keith Phillips and worked at the Tenino Middle School as the Librarian.

She is survived by her husband, Keith; sons, Ken Bailey and Tom Bailey; daughters, Vicky Gray and Molly Anderson; and sister, Ingamoe Miller of Frenchglen.

At her request there will be no service.
