Shannon Dee Fritts 1968 – 2022

Shannon Dee Fritts was born in Stockton, Calif., on July 7, 1968, passing away on March 17, 2022 in Burns.

She was the third of five children born to Jack L. Fritts and Maura V. (Remolette) Clarke.  While in elementary school, Shannon’s family moved to Burns. As a child, Shannon enjoyed playing Little League Baseball, having BB gun fights, shooting, hunting, camping, and exploring with her four brothers which included Brian, Eric, Mark, and Jimmy.

Shannon graduated high school in 1986. She decided to move back to California to be with family. She enjoyed the family gatherings at her grandparent’s house for music, food and hanging out with her many cousins. In November of 1989, Shannon returned to Oregon where she gained a brother, Jory and few years later two sisters, Erica and Kortney.

In June 1997, her pride and joy was born, Shyanne Rose. Even though she wanted a boy, Shannon loved Shyanne beyond measure. It wasn’t long and her little sidekick was enjoying the outdoors with her.

In 2020, Shannon was blessed with twin nieces, Chloe and Oaklyn aka “The Chlokies” whom she enjoyed spending her time with and taking them on weekly drives around Harney County. In 2022, along came her nephew Elijah who is beyond blessed to have loved for a few short months. Her legacy as the best auntie will continue to live on and never be forgotten.

Over the years, Shannon had many hobbies, she enjoyed flyfishing and tying flies but fell in love taking pictures of wildlife and darn near every inch of the Harney County environment. She would spend countless hours driving hoping for the perfect shot. For a short period of time, she was writing short stories published in the Burns Times-Herald. She worked at Big R for many years, eventually becoming the store manager.

Shannon is survived by her daughter, Shyanne; brothers, Mark (Susan) Fritts, Jimmy (Gwen) Fritts and Jory; sisters, Erica and Kortney; her mother, Vicky; nieces, Chloe and Oaklyn; nephew, Elijah, and many more. She was predeceased in death of her father, Jack L.; brothers, Brian and Eric; grandparents, Clifford and Elsie Fritts; Uncle Shelby and Aunt Babe.
