A mother and daughter were found deceased near the county line

On Thursday, July 7, a Silvies Ranch employee located a 2004 Toyota van with a deceased individual inside of it. The van was located just inside of Grant County, near the Grant/Harney county line.

After conducting an initial investigation, law enforcement located a second body inside of the vehicle.

The deceased individuals were identified as Dawna Roe, 51, and her 16-year-old daughter, Gabby, of Caldwell, Idaho.

The Caldwell Police department reported the pair missing on July 6, noting that there were concerns for the safety of both individuals.

KTVB — a news station based in Boise, Idaho — reported that Caldwell Police Chief Rex Ingram said, “Preliminary information shows it appears to be a murder suicide by gunshot.”

However, the cause of death is still under investigation. No other individuals are being sought at this time.
