Laura “Kaye” (Bagley) Hauth May 25, 1940 – Aug. 12, 2022

Kaye was born in 1940 to Margaret and Clinton Bagley of Hines. She was the baby of the family, the third of three girls. She was active in her high school, participating in a variety of activities, including being a member of the Rainbows and also served as a lifeguard at the pool.

In 1961, she married Ron Hauth at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. In 1962 they added a baby boy, Carl and in 1964, LeighAnn completed their family. Over the years, Kaye worked for a variety of companies, including JC Penney’s, Nyleens Western Store and the Best Western Hotel but her true passion was in serving as a caregiver. She worked as a personal caregiver for many years for a local writer, George Hibard; she worked at Harney County Hospital for 20 years; and then at the Burns Nursing Home where she also tended to her mother until her passing. In her later years, she volunteered much of her time to help care for her mother and father-in-law in Coos Bay, Ore.

Kaye loved to golf and was a long-time member of the Valley Golf Course. She spent many years camping with her family at Warm Springs Reservoir, Wolf Mountain and various other locations across the region. She enjoyed many summer vacations on the Oregon coast and made trips to Washington, Massachusetts and Texas to visit her family when they were stationed in different locations while they were in the service. She enjoyed visiting with her friends, children and grandchildren and visits from her great-granddaughter.

Kaye made Hines her home for her entire life.

Kaye is survived by her husband, Ron; children and their spouses, Carl and Jeri Hauth, and LeighAnn and John Graves; grandchildren, Katherine Hauth, Jeffrey Graves, Ryan Hauth, Cambie Graves, Zachary Hauth; and her great-grandchild, Abigail Atencio; brother-in-law, Ken Hauth and his family.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Margaret and Clinton Bagley; mother and father-in-law, Carl and Katherine Hauth; sisters, Sally Branson and Shirley Thompson and their families.

At her request, there will be no service. Her ashes will be spread at her favorite camping spots across Harney County. Donations can be made in her name to the Harney County Hospital Foundation.
