With a total of 161 points, the Burns Hilander wrestling team edged out La Pine to take first place at the Sisters GFP Invitational, which was held at Sisters High School on Saturday, Dec. 17.

La Pine finished second with 160 points, Ridgeview placed third with 138, Marshfield was fourth with 98.5, and Madras rounded out the top five with 72. Crane finished eighth with 30 points, which were earned by two wrestlers.

Burns had five, first-place finishers. Thomas Winn (120), Kale Cornell (126), Carter Lardy (145), Hunter Kemper (152), and Easton Kemper (170) each took the top spot in their respective weight class. Kempton Richardson (106) and Hazen Johnson (132) each earned second place in their weight class. Additionally, Joe Weil placed third in the 182-pound weight class.

Crane’s Jake Doman took home the gold in the 182-pound weight class.
