Loretta Thompson, age 66, of Burns, passed away on Dec. 28, 2022 in Reno, Nev.

She was born in Arizona to Ernest Thompson and Irene Chavez. She was a long time resident of Burns. She loved fishing, camping, hunting, hanging out with her grandkids as well as the beach.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Irene Chavez of Idaho and Ernest Thompson of Arizona; stepfather, Steven Chavez; brothers, Robert Thompson and Larry Thompson; her life partner, Rick K; and two granddaughters, Jaime and Nizhoni Barney.

She is survived by her daughters, Michelle Manzanares and Patricia Manzanares, both of Portland, Samantha Schwabe of Lincoln City; son, James Manzanares of Denver; brothers, Al Thompson of Burns, Harry and Henry Thompson of Idaho; sister, Marley Thompson of Idaho; 16 grandkids; four great-grandkids; and many nieces and nephews of Idaho and Texas.
