The Burns Hilander baseball team defeated the Vale Vikings at home on Tuesday, May 2, in five innings, 11-1.

Burns’ six runs in the first inning — and four in the fourth — put the game out of reach for the Vikings, who scored their lone run in the top of the fifth.

Freshman Jack Wright earn the win after pitching a complete game, striking out 10 batters, while only giving up one run on two hits.

Burns finished with six hits on the day, with sophomore Kadan Peasley leading the way. Peasley finished going two for two, with two RBIs and a triple. Hunter Kemper, Garrett Johnson, Carter Lardy, and Sean McMullen had one hit each.

The Hilanders are one game out of first place, behind the Joseph/Enterprise/Wallowa team.
