Elks Lodge thankful after another successful annual Christmas basket campaign

The Elks Lodge 1680 would like to thank the community for a very successful annual Christmas food and toy baskets and delivery of baskets. 150 households were served equaling 425 people.

Unloading at the Elks.

This endeavor begins early in the year, with Elk members donating through their annual dues. The local lodge also received a grant from the Elks National Foundation to support the project along with fundraising by the Leading Knight’s Ball and many member and nonmember cash donations.

It’s the volunteers and supporters of this project that truly make this event a success. Volunteer hours were well above 500 hours. Many thanks to the following: Kristy Cadena and Anna Cronin for coordinating the project. The many volunteers who shopped, organized food items, filled baskets, delivered baskets and other tasks needed to prepare. Lincoln Junior High Leadership team for their continued support through their annual can food drive. Les Schwab and Dollar General for allowing us to place collections bins for toys. Grocery Outlet; Jessie and Ruth Anna for making the shopping and pick-up easy and pleasant going as far as delivering gift cards. The Cattlewomen who donated 300lbs of hamburger.  Terri Hellbusch and Terri Williams who took it upon themselves to organize volunteers to collect nonperishable food items and cash donations.

Thank you to all who made the Annual Christmas Baskets a great success.
