Tina Grace Coons June 13, 1972 – Dec. 11, 2023

Tina held a love for others, a love larger than for herself. She enjoyed talking to people that she didn’t know along with ones that she had known for a lifetime. Tina always said hello to everyone but held a special place in her heart for children and the elderly. She would help anyone in need, whether she could afford it or not – she always found a way. She welcomed others into her home and never turned anyone away. Many young adults still refer to her as their ”Street Mom” as her heart was large enough for everyone and her love never came with conditions.

As a child Tina had fun going to Black Powder shoots with her family. She used her dad’s 52 Caliber black powder gun and always brought home trophies from her events. She enjoyed going fishing, collecting rocks, planting flowers, spending time with her family, kids, grandkids, and making items for others. She lived in Lakeview for the past 10 years with her boyfriend, David, but was born and raised here in Harney County. She and David worked together in Lakeview on house repair, yard work, house cleaning, and serving the elderly. Tina spent extra time driving the elderly to their appointments and ran errands for them as they were unable to drive.

She enjoyed spending time with them as they showed her appreciation and kindness. Tina had just finished hanging Christmas lights for one of her clients when her heart gave out on her, ending her life with a massive heart episode. When speaking with the woman she was serving at the time of her passing she stated, “Tina never had a bad day, no matter what I asked of her or how many times I called her a day she never got short with me; she was always patient and kind. I loved that about your mom.”

Tina is survived by parents, Cecil and Lorraine Coons, of Burns; an older brother, Emory Coons, of Burns; her biological children and grandchild, Maranda and Brad Calkins, and their daughter, Hailey of Hines, Codie Hill of Bend, and Chance Hull of Hines; and her bonus children and grandchildren, Alexandra (Allie) Hull, and her children Kyan, and Harold of New Mexico, and Ken (Bobby) and Leaunna Hull, and their children Grayson, Hudson, Blair, and Ryker of Washington. She is also survived by relatives, Darrell and Linda Peasley of Burns, Cousin Ben Peasley and Family of Burns. Virginia, Charles, John and Brian Shenk as well as many family members in Idaho and Harney County.

Tina was laid to rest in the Burns Cemetery next to her grandparents Charles and Dorothy Worley of Hines.  A Celebration of Life will be held in June.
