The Burns Hilander wrestling team finished in the six spot out of 32 teams at the Vaquero Classic held at Fernley High School, Friday and Saturday, Jan. 26-27.

Kale Cornell finished first in the 126-pound weight class and earned the Outstanding Wrestler award, while Joe Weil finished first as well in the 190-pound weight class.

Spanish Springs won the tournament, scoring 340 points. Host team Fernley finished second, scoring 274, Douglas 267, Lowry 210.5, Carson 206, Burns 184.5, Spanish Springs B 142, White Pine 125, Reno 123.5, and Spring Creek scored 115.5 points to round out the top 10 teams.
