Crossroads Ranch of Harney County hosts dinner and auction

As Crossroads Ranch of Harney County does not currently have indoor coverage for their facilities arena, and with it being wintertime in Harney County where the weather is ever so unpredictable,  Crossroads Ranch has not been able to offer any camps nor have they been able to give any riding lessons since late fall although they have been busy scheduling for upcoming camps and lessons, tentatively slated to begin in March, weather permitting.

The heart of Crossroads Ranch Harney County is to provide a safe and accepting place for participants, horses and families to experience hope, healing and encouragement with their current goal being able to provide their services year round regardless of what the weather is outside.

In order to achieve this goal Crossroads has been diligently working on getting indoor coverage for their arena with hopes that this goal will come to fruition in time to offer both lessons and camps as soon as next winter.

With a grant from the Eastern Oregon Coordinated Care Organization (EOCCO) presently Crossroads is well on their way to achieving this goal. Additional funds that will go toward this project were raised this past Saturday, Feb. 17, when Crossroads held their annual fundraiser and auction at the Harney County Fairgrounds Memorial Building where over $5,000 was raised.

Jennifer Williams, Crossroads Board Chair, wanted to thank Harney Partners for Kids and Families, HC Naz (Harney County Church of the Nazarene), Tom and Linda McCulloch, Bank of Eastern Oregon, Oregon Trail Electric Company and Grocery Outlet for sponsoring this years tables. She also wanted to thank the Old Time Fiddlers for providing live music for the event.

As well, Williams wanted to thank the community for attending the event and for participating in the auction. Williams also wanted to thank her fellow Crossroads Board Members who continually go above and beyond to assure Crossroads is able to continue to provide the services so many individuals in our community enjoy being a part of.

Lastly, Williams wanted people to know that they will be holding a volunteer clinic on March 16, 2024, at the Crossroads Ranch facility located at 53 E. Industrial Way in Burns, tentatively scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and ending around noon. Williams encourages anybody interested in volunteering at Crossroads to attend this course.

To learn more about the volunteer class and/or to get scheduled for camps and riding lessons that will begun in March please contact Crossroads at (541)-589-4788 or send emails to crossroadsrhc@gmail.com
