It saddens me to inform you that my beloved mother Judith F. Choate, 81, passed away on Dec. 26, 2023, at 1:43 p.m., at Harney District Hospital. She passed away as a result of COVID-19, Pneumonia, and complications due to a stroke. 

She is survived by her son, Samuel G. Newton of Hines; her daughter, Okalani L. Comfort of Burns; her sister, Jane Morgan of Sacramento, Calif.; her niece, Chandra Meikle also of Sacramento; her nephew, Larry Morgan of Fort Bragg, Calif.; as well as many friends within Burns. There will not be a Celebration of life.
