Edward “Ed” Roy Moulton, devoted husband, dad, papa, and friend, peacefully passed away at the age of 66, surrounded by his wife and kids.

He was born on May 27, 1960, in Lakewood, Calif., to Edward Ellis and Joyce Robinson, the oldest of three siblings.

In his early childhood, the family moved to Seneca, where his mother met Orville Gene Moulton, the man who stepped up and became his dad and adopted him and his siblings, eventually relocating to Burns, where the family made their home.

In 1978, Ed’s first son, Edward Gene, was born, joined by son Daniel Leroy in 1981, and daughter Dixie Marie in 1986.

Ed met the love of his life, Miranda, and the two were married on Aug. 8, 2003, where he took on the role of dad to Kendal Anne, completing his family.

Ed’s career path took him on many adventures, from corrections deputy for Harney County Sheriff’s Office to case manager at Independence Place for Symmetry Care. Ultimately, his passion was the time he spent cutting logs alongside his dad and behind the wheel of a log truck.

Ed loved time spent on the many camping, fishing, and hunting trips with his family and friends. After retirement, he self-taught himself the fine art of preserving and canning meats and vegetables, something he found such profound pride in. Retirement brought him the time to enjoy more time with the ones he loved the most.

Ed was survived by his wife of 23 years, Miranda; son, Edward Moulton (fiancé,Summer), son, Daniel Moulton (wife, Lacey); daughter, Kendal Roozeboom (husband, Jorden), and daughter, Dixie Rector; grandchildren, Mackenzie, Anthony, Austin, Steven, Sue, Danlyn, Savannah, Kloe, Kolbie, Taylor, Emily, Ciera, and Bennett; great-grandchildren, Mason, Clyve, Verlyn, and Maisey; brother, Keith Pinster, brother, Walt Sutterfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ed is preceded in death by parents, Orville and Joyce Moulton; and brother, Scott Lee Moulton.

Memorial Services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 25, 2026, at Lafollettes Chapel in Burns. In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to be made to the Wounded Warrior Project in Edward Moulton’s name.
