Dean Iverson Aug 5, 1939 – June 26, 2026 Obituary August 5, 2026August 5, 20260 Dean was universally loved for his wide ranging interests, friendliness and easy going nature. He lived life with gusto and was an early adopter of the latest trends. He loved the outdoors and shared this enthusiasm with his family, creating many great memories. Dean was born in Seattle and raised in Hermiston. He graduated from Washington State University with a degree in History. This piqued his lifelong passion of reading, delving into Pacific Northwest history and collecting books, maps, art and model trains. He worked as a salesman with disabled people, and owned a successful business that took him from Alaska to Oregon, Washington and Idaho. He found purpose in connecting with people and helping others. Dean continued lifelong friendships with extended family, colleagues, and friends from the places he lived and raised a family. He chose Burns as the perfect spot to spend his final years. He was an active member in the community and built many bonds. He enjoyed fine wine, cooking, eating and hosting friends and family. Until the end he was playing bridge, cribbage and Uno and usually winning. Dean will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He was a presence wherever he went. He is survived by his children, Bren, Leslie and Sten; his daughter-in-law Rosi; his grandson Otto; his partner Sue. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
