Ronald “Ron” Hauth 1941 – 2026 Obituary August 19, 2026August 19, 20260 Ronald “Ron” Hauth, born April 2, 1941 in Burns, to Carl and Katherine Hauth, passed away peacefully on in‑home hospice care at his son, Carl’s home in Bandon, Ore. Ron was raised in Hines and spent his entire life in Harney County, where he built a legacy of hard work, and devotion to family. In 1961 he married his high school sweetheart, Laura “Kaye” Bagley. Together they welcomed their son Carl in 1962, and their daughter LeighAnn in 1964, completing their family. Ron worked for many years at the Edward Hines Lumber Company. After the mill closed, he held several new roles, including work on the power line, as a baker at Ray’s Sentry Market, and later with a local trailer manufacturing company. He approached every job with integrity, reliability, and a steady work ethic. He loved time outdoors, especially camping and hunting trips with his family. Wolf Mountain and Warm Springs Reservoir were the backdrop for countless memories. Ron was also an avid golfer who enjoyed trying new courses and was a lifelong member of the Valley Golf Course and the BPOE Elks Lodge. Family was the heart of Ron’s life. He traveled to visit his children and grandchildren during their military service in Washington, Massachusetts, and Texas. He was a devoted son and husband, caring for his aging parents alongside Kaye and later providing loving care to his wife throughout her extended illness. He passed away on the fourth anniversary of Kaye’s death. Ron is survived by his son, Carl (Jeri); his daughter, LeighAnn Graves (Johnny); grandchildren, Katherine Hauth, Ryan Hauth, Zachary Hauth, Jeffrey Graves, and Cambie Graves; great‑grandchildren, Abagail Atencio and Danyelle Graves; his brother, Ken Hauth and other family members. He will be remembered for his loyalty, his sense of humor, love of spirited debate and the love he carried for his family. There will be no service at Ron’s request.
