William Z. Thomson, of Ontario, formerly of Burns, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026, at the age of 93.

A husband, veteran, father, rancher and businessman; a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 67. He was most proud of his time employed as the Malheur County Veteran’s Service Officer assisting both Oregon and Idaho Veterans.

He is proceeded in death by his wife, Shirley J. Thomson; and survived by his son, William C. Thomson of Bainbridge Island, Wash.; and daughter, Janice M. Thomson of Ontario. No services will be held per his request and the couple’s ashes will be spread together at a later time.
