Join the fun and let your artistic self out! The Third annual Found Object Reindeer Raffle is scheduled to take place at the Homespun Craft Bazaar in the Memorial Building at the Harney County Fairgrounds on Friday evening Dec. 6, and all day Saturday, Dec. 7. Create a reindeer out of found objects and enter it to be raffled off. Each reindeer is raffled separately, and each entry receives half of the ticket sales for that reindeer. The reindeer voted People’s Choice will win a $25 gift certificate. This event is a fundraiser for the Harney County Arts & Crafts Association. Raffle ticket prices are $1 each or 6 for $5.

This is a great opportunity for up-cycle enthusiasts. Past entries include a reindeer flight school based on a cat tree; a reindeer made from wired together small tins; an entry made of pressed pulp packaging, a fishing weight, and twigs; People’s Choice winners made from kitchen utensils, such as graters and whisks, and one made from rope. There have been fold-out reindeer cards made with recycled paper; and one made from a large fish-shaped pillow, a reindeer antler headband, a painted stand made from recycled cardboard, and a red spongy clown nose.

The deadline for entries is Friday evening, Dec. 6, at the event site. For more information on how to enter your Found Object Reindeer, please contact Barbara Skillman by text at 541-413-0084 or by email at babs491@gmail.com.
