On Friday, March 12, 2021, Greg V. Quant, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away at the age of 57.

Greg was born October 18, 1963 in Prineville to Roger Quant and Beverly McKinnon (Klish).

He graduated from Burns High School in 1983. Greg later married Deborah Quant (Furgerson) in 1986. 

Ranching became the way of life for him in high school and started working for Hoyt & Sons during his senior year. In 1989, Greg began working his lifelong career for ACW Inc. – Andy Root, where he continued to hay and run heavy equipment. He really enjoyed firefighting in the summers, running CAT on the front line. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, camping, woodworking, and spending time with his family.

Greg and Debi went on to have their first and only son, Mychael R. Quant on August 26, 1996. Mychael was the light of his world and they did everything together.

Later in life, Greg found his salvation in Christ Jesus on March 28, 2010 and was baptized on April 3, 2010.

Greg is survived by his wife, Debi Quant; son, Mychael Quant and his wife, Jessica Quant; four grandchildren, Matthew, Jordan, Jaycen, and Joshua; sister, Janese Clark and her spouse, Ricky Clark; niece, Katrina Cross and family; brother, Todd Quant and significant other, Nancy Sherman; nephew, Wesley Quant and family. He is also survived by many cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Greg is preceded in death by his mother, Beverly McKinnon; his father, Roger Quant; aunt, Valerie Larkin (McKinnon); and grandparents, William and Victoria McKinnon.

Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Harney County Fairgrounds Memorial building. Donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
