Burns High School volleyball closes out regular season with several wins

With spring break coming to an end, the Hilander volleyball team got back into action defeating the Ontario Tigers at Burns High School in three sets, 25-10, 25-11, 25-11, on March 31.

Allie Hueckman was the player of the game with a .500 hitting percentage, a 55.0 kill percentage, three blocks and picking up 22 kills, 10 digs, and six receptions.

Kaiden Raif led the Hilanders with 18 assists, and Macy Temple finished with 14.

Kaitlyn Wright had eight receptions, Hallie SkunkCap had seven, and Kaya Dobson had five.

Wright finished in second on the team in kills with six, Reese Rothwell and Alicyn Hoke had three, and Kyla Epling and Raif with one each.

Temple and Wright each had two aces.

Wright also finished with 13 digs, Dobson with five, and Lacie Tiller had three.

Burns traveled to Nyssa on April 2 and was victorious against the Bulldogs, beating them in three sets, 25-13, 25-14, 25-18.

Kaiden Raif was the player of the game with one ace, 27 assists, a .500 hitting percentage, and five digs.

Allie Hueckman finished the day with 11 kills, four aces and 100 percent serving, and eight digs.

Kaitlyn Wright had 19 kills and 10 digs.

Hallie SkunkCap finished with three aces.

Mackenzie King ended with five digs, and Macy Temple had four.

The next day, La Grande visited Burns and came out strong in the first set. Fortunately, Burns was able to hold out and defeat the Tigers in three sets, 25-22, 25-12, 25-14.

Allie Hueckman was the player of the game with 100 percent serving, two aces, an impressive 2.55 on reception stats, two assists, 12 kills, 25 digs, and three blocks.

Kaya Dobson, Hallie SkunkCap, and Macy Temple all had receiving over 2.0 reception stats.

Kaiden Raif led the Hilanders with 31 assists.

Kaitlyn Wright finished with three aces, and SkunkCap and Raif ended with two each.

Wright led the team with 14 kills, Mackenzie King finished with six, and Alicyn Hoke had five.

The Hilanders finished the Season 2 with a 12-1 record.
