Carol Marie Tschida 1960 – 2022

Carol Marie Tschida, age 61, was born in Baker City on Aug. 9, 1960 and lived in Austin Junction until 1964 when the family moved to Burns. 

She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, grandmother and friend. Carol graduated from Burns High School in 1978. 

Carol married Donald Tschida on Oct. 31, 1992 and lived in Hines, until 2004 when the family moved to Prineville. Don and Carol remained in Prineville for the remainder of her life and were happily married for 29 years. 

She had two sons, her oldest, Brian, was born in 1982 and Austin, was born in 1994. She later had three grandsons, Phineus, Edison and Sullivan whom she adored and were the joy of her life. She loved to spend her time with the boys doing outdoor adventures including fishing, mushroom hunting and boating. 

She always had the best stories and the boys loved to hear them. She enjoyed many hobbies including painting, drawing, card making and quilting. Pretty much anything involving arts and crafts she excelled in. 

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Tabor; her grandparents, Bert and Ethel Wirth, Albert and Veta Tabor; her uncle, Bill Tabor; and her aunt; Theresa Fowler. She is survived by her husband, Don Tschida; her mother, Virginia Tabor; her sons, Austin Tschida, Brian Riley and wife, Ashley and their three sons, Phineus, Edison and Sullivan Riley; her sister, Theresa Tabor and her children, Kayla Post-Blum and Levi Post; and many more extended family and friends. 

Carol passed away on Feb. 5, 2022 at St. Charles hospital in Bend. She chose cremation and to have her ashes spread by family at Perry South at Lake Billy Chinook. A celebration of life will held in her honor and memory on Feb. 19, 2022 at Hanai Foundation at 62430 Eagle Rd, Bend, Ore., at 1:00 p.m. 

In lieu of flowers the family would ask that you donate to your local humane society as Carol had deep love and passion for animals.
