BHS volleyball handles the Vale Vikings at home

The Burns High School (BHS) volleyball team put away the Vale Vikings in three sets 25-14, 25-11, 25-8, at home on Thursday, Oct. 6.

Mackenzie King led the team with 18 kills, Akylah Kaino finished with 15, and Catilyn Horrell had nine.

Ashley Wright and King each had four aces on the evening.

Klaire Theall and Kaino led the Hilanders with three blocks apiece, and Horrell finished with two.

King also led the team with 11 digs. Macy Temple had nine, Lacie Tiller finished with eight, and Reese Rothwell had six.

Wright had all 41 of the team’s assists.

Burns then traveled to La Grande on Monday, Oct. 10 where they played back-to-back games. They defeated Pendleton and La Grande in three straight sets. Stats were unavailable at press time.

Burns leads all of 3A with 21 wins and will face off against La Pine (10-11) for their last regular home season game on Wednesday, Oct. 12.

JV game time is set for 4 p.m., and varsity is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.
