Jimmie Vickers July 21, 1954 – March 6, 2026

Jimmie Jeanette (Hill) Vickers, 71, was born July 21, 1954 to Jim and Carole (Hill, Wallace) Vickers in Coos Bay, and passed away on March 6, 2026 in Eugene.

As a child she lived in Empire, Forest Grove, Portland, Redmond and Bend before spending the rest of her school years in Hines and Burns. In high school Jeanette was active in track, the Bonnie Lassies, and GAA. Outside of school she enjoyed playing softball and riding her horse.

After graduation she moved to Eugene and eventually worked for the City of Eugene mostly in the Transportation department for over 29 years. It was there that she decided to use her birth name, Jimmie. She traveled back to Eastern Oregon for holidays and many camping trips on Emigrant Creek with family and friends. She also enjoyed her animals. music, dancing, photography and working on her cars and home.

Jimmie owned three big dogs, Eli, then Annie and lastly Paco. Later her passion became saving kitties. She started a cattery at the South Eugene PetSmart and spent many hours working this volunteer job. Jimmie had many kitties of her own over the years. She would rescue feral or abandoned cats in her neighborhood and spent many days dog/cat sitting for her neighbors and other friends.

Jimmie will be remembered for being strong, fun, funny, generous, creative, hardworking, fun loving, adventurous, friendly, and spunky! She will be greatly missed.

Jimmie is survived by her sister, Vicki (& Walt) Donovan; her nephew, Travis Donovan; and niece, Trinity Donovan and her two girls, all in Chandler, Ariz., and another niece, Tara Donovan (Matt Gaskalla) in Playa del Rey, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Carole Wallace of Burns.

Her ashes were placed in the scattering garden at Sunset Hills Funeral Home in Eugene,  where a memorial will be held this summer.
