On Aug. 26, 2026, Larry Perdue went to be with the Lord at his home in Burns, surrounded by his family.

Larry was born on Jan. 11, 1940, to Joy and Dale Perdue in Vale, S.D.

He attended school in Vale, Ore., and in South Dakota. He moved back to Oregon from South Dakota with his family when he was in the 12th grade.

In 1958, he met and married Naomi. They were married for 65 and a half years. Larry and Naomi raised three children: Diana, Dan, and Donna.

Larry loved country and gospel music, he enjoyed playing the guitar, writing songs, and singing in church with family and friends.

Throughout his life, he had several careers as a cowboy on a ranch, as a welder/fabricator, log truck driver, and operated a log chipper. He owned an auto repair shop, and was a manager/handyman for a warehouse complex. After he moved to Burns, he enjoyed helping his son, Dan, with his towing business.

Larry enjoyed going to the mountains, growing plants and flowers, caring for animals, and building things. He was able to fix/improve/manufacture just about anything.

Everyone who met Larry liked him and enjoyed the stories he told about his life experiences.

Larry is preceded in death by his sister, Dixie; his mother, Joy; his father, Dale; and his brother, TR.

Larry is survived by his wife, Naomi; his three children: Diana Fields, Dan Perdue, and Donna (Troy) Carter; two granddaughters, Angelina Kovaleva, and April White; and great-grandson, Haydon White; two sisters, Niki Lopez (Arnold), and Carol Ann Gordon; and brother, Jon Perdue; sister-in-laws, Vickie Myres and Lee Perdue; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Larry was deeply loved and is greatly missed by those who knew him. Larry will be laid to rest in the Burns Cemetery at a later date.
